Here are 5 tricks that you should consider learning for the skatepark:
#1: Dropping In & Pumping- learn to skateboard
While dropping in may seem a bit hard at fast, the truth is that it is all about commitment. The truth is that you get scared while you’re dropping in, you’ll most likely going to wipe out. However, if you bend your knees to get a lower center of gravity and lean forward, you’ll probably end up landing it.
You should try dropping in on a bank first and only then on a mini-ramp or on a quarter pipe.
#2: 50-50 Grind- learn to skateboard
Before you even attempt to try out the 50-50 Grind, make sure that you practice your Ollies sideways.
#3: Pop Shuvit- learn to skateboard
Pop Shuvit is one of the easiest and simplest tricks you can learn when you’re just starting skateboarding. However, you should try to do some shuvits first. The only difference is that there are no pops. However, they can be a lot of fun.
The truth is that you can’t really shuvit off over a gap or a set of stairs. You need to discover how to be able to catch a Pop Shuvit at the pop peak. Just keep practicing.
#4: Frontside Noseslide- learn to skateboard
Before trying the Frontside Noseslide trick, you need to practice the nosestall first. This means learning all those nosestalling boxes, benches, stairs, or curbs that you can find that you can Ollie onto.
While you may learn how to nosestall with Olling, you can learn it this way too.
#5: Kickflip – learn to skateboard
One of the tricks that most skateboarding beginners are usually really anxious about is the Kickflip. However, it can take you a few weeks or even months to get the hang of it. So, don’t get frustrated easily.
One of the best things you can do is to watch a couple of videos from different perspectives. This will help you see what you need to do.
Just try to pop a solid Ollie and when you’re at the peak just flick your ankle in your board’s top corner. Then, you just need to be able to catch the flip with your back foot and bring your front foot back.
